Location: Waldshut, Germany
Date of stay: Sept 2023 & Sept 2024
Price: €19/night
Rhein-Camping is located at the southern end of Germany's famous B500 through the Black Forest, right on the Swiss border. It makes an ideal final stop before crossing into Switzerland or a convenient base for exploring the surrounding area.
The final bonus is its location beside the River Rhine, where several small beaches make it easy to cool off with a swim after a day on the bike.
My Thoughts on Rhein-Camping
So good I came back! I stayed here on the way home in 2023, there is plenty of space for tents and a large indoor area with showers, washing facilities, a communal area with tables and chairs and a very nice restaurant.
I wasn't planning to go back in 2024 but when the weather took a turn for the worse while I was in the area it was a no brainer. I was able to eat in the restaurant and sit inside until I was ready for bed rather than being confined to my tent. I met some amazing people whilst sheltering from the weather during this stay!
